This modern house is located on the ridge between Kentfield and San Rafael in California. Arranged in stepped volumes that follow the slope and face wide views from Mount Tamalpais to the Valley of San Rafael. Warm wood, natural stone, concrete, and floor-to-ceiling glass form a simple, refined palette that links the house to the landscape.
Generous terraces extend the living spaces outdoors, while the infinity pool becomes an integral part of the composition, visually merging the house with the horizon. Large areas of glazing bring natural light deep into the interiors and create a continuous relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The result is a modern hillside home that feels both dramatic and understated—carefully integrated into the landscape rather than imposed upon it.
