Both drawing and painting have taught me patience, observation, and the importance of composition—how to set a scene, what to emphasize, and, perhaps most importantly, what to leave out. These are lessons that naturally carry into my architectural work as well. I am especially drawn to portraiture, and some of my favorite subjects have been my children.

I am equally fascinated by oil painting as a medium. I love its depth, texture, and the freedom it offers to build an image slowly through layers of color and light.
